GitHub Targeting Muslim Women’s Online on Sullideals and Bullibai Apps Blocked

Both Sulli Deals and Bulli Bai were created on the open-source platform GitHub. Both ‘Sulli’ and ‘Bulli’ are derogatory terms for Muslim women. After the Sulli Deals application went live in July 2020 starting shock for focusing on Muslim ladies, GitHub brought down the application. The equivalent was the situation with Bulli Bai, where photographs of almost 90 ladies having a place with the Muslim people group including conspicuous columnists, activists, and specialists had been shared, putting them up ‘for the auction.IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed last Saturday that GitHub has obstructed the client behind the ‘Bulli Bai’ application and “further activity” was being facilitated. Not at all like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, GitHub is definitely not a web-based media stage, but instead a product vault for designers and coders to store codes of their product on the web.
